The Importance of Liquids in Caloric Intake

One tough thing for many people in the midst of their bulking season would be how to get the calories that they need. Although this might a dream scenario for some, some people have a tough time getting their calories in. I am someone who is of the opinion that is hard to stuff my face with food. Sure, if it was a situation where I could eat anything that I wanted, it would be an easy time. However, when you are bulking up, the main thing that you are going to need is protein and lots of it.

I don’t have the room in my budget to gorge myself on steaks and other meats, so I knew that I had to get creative. Another problem that I faced was that I just couldn’t bring myself to eat that much throughout the day. I work a busy job and beyond that, my life at home is always super busy. I knew that I had to find a way to get to that next level and that is when I started looking into exactly what I should do to fix this problem.

It was at that time, that I found some awesome protein shake recipes. I will enjoy a bit of a protein drink after most of my workouts, so this was an idea that was in front of me the whole time! From there, I got a pen and paper and really starting making a cool list of shakes that I wanted to try. From there, it was off to the supermarket and then I had my collection of recipes ready to try. As fate would have it, this was also when I really began to gain the weight that I needed to to keep up with my heavy workouts!

If this sounds like something that you are going through, I highly suggest that you try this experiment too. You will have a much easier time sipping an awesome drink through a straw than by preparing some big meal. One thing that I liked most about trying this out was that I had far less dishes to do than usual. My wife enjoyed me not dirtying up the kitchen constantly with all of my prepared meals too, so that was a big plus! I felt like I had discovered some sort of cheat code for bulking time.

It was something that was right in front of me but it took me feeling pretty down about my results for this lightbulb to go off. Something else that I really want to recommend to everyone is to try and see if there are some new foods that you might have never tried. One thing that I hated for years was sweet potatoes, but here is the thing, I had never even tried them before. Because of me being so close-minded, I missed out on a food for years, that now I honestly love.

So, to sum everything up, be sure that you try to see how you would enjoy substituting those hard to get down meals for a nice shake. You can easily make most of these with what you have around the house, however, a trip to the grocery store could be in order. Take this time to find out what foods you might want to try as well. Finding that one new food could lead to many others and anything that you can do to make bulking up easier for you should always be tried!
